Since this is the GeeOhPee, likely the most rational approach to polling is not live calls, or robocalls, or even intertube twatting. Simply roll over to Google dot ginormous and enter a candidate's name and "assh*le". Obvious back benchers like iCarly, Husterbee, and Kasich don't even break 100K. Dan Savage's bff Ricky barely crosses 100K if you add "lube". True GOP hit parade is:

Caribou Barbie comes in at 451,000, but she's just griftin', not runnin'. To my maths edumacated eye, it seems that Bruce Springsteen's favorite fan has the back road covered to be the beltway Replican choice after Cruz & tehRump get thrown off the bus.
But the election isn't tomorrow. As we've noted, the 2012 caucus winner, Rick Santorum, was still polling under 10 percent eight days before the caucus that year. The story of this new poll is that Iowa has changed. And over the next eight days, it will change more.
Perhaps…but the fact that TehRump is gaining ground despite his many flaws as a potential President is making me simultaneously sick to my stomach and ecstatic about Hillary's chances…
This is why the electoral process is so fascinating (well to wonks like me at least) – both within parties, locally, and then nationally.
When it comes down to an either/or, for the big brass ring, anything can happen – and my only fear is the cult of personality, and a whole swathe of new voters in a fractured electorate, where there's literally only a couple of percent of middle ground.
We could very well see a Reverse Obama effect in 2016: but surely, surely Trump will go too far at some point. Will the large swathe of people who are disgusted by Trump, but don't usually vote actually come out at the end of the year to counteract those who are somehow energised by this egotistical buffoon? Hmmm…
Trump winning the GOPer nom will either be the best thing that could happen (when he loses in a political revolution/49-state electoral holocaust) or….
