Truly! Earlier today, I was regaining consciousness after napping, sorta half-in half-out, and I was having this dream about this stray black cat that sometimes hangs out in the vacant lot outside our window. I love this cat and whenever I see it I go, "Meow?" out the window and it hears me and turns it face to the window (we're on the 3rd floor, btw). It has beautiful, creepy yellow-green eyes and just stares. Anyway, in my dream, this cat comes up to me while I'm walking outside and all of a sudden I get this feeling of dread, like, "RUN!" I turn to run, but it's too late. The cat is already on my shoulder and has managed to basically tackle me. In my half-awake state, I could feel its paws around my neck like it was searching for my jugular. That's when I woke up. I'm never meowing at that cat again.
Yes, a town hall in NH on CNN and it just ended. Nothing shocking happened. Both Sanders and Clinton did really well and no one swore on live teevee. Tomorrow night there's a debate in NH (obvs) on MSNBC. I guess we're going from not enough debates to all the events we can handle.
Apparently there will be 4 additional debates. Another added is March 6 in Flint, Michigan. Bernie has finally agreed to show up to tomorrow's so I think we're good.
Yay! Glad they could work it out. (I assume they are NOT doing the one Bernie wanted to hold at his Bubbe's house. Also, it gave me a chance to picture no doubt color-coded very complex day planner, so that was a treat.)
Was it "Trumpesque" to request a debate in Brooklyn?
The saying he was going to take his ball and go home until everyone agreed to do exactly what he wanted was Trumpesque. Glad someone on his team (or Bernie himself) realized what a bad look that was.
I hadn't heard about that. I'm very surprised. He should know better. Doesn't bode well.
It really was odd, especially coming so soon after Trump got roasted for skipping a debate.
Not sure if I'd go as far as Trumpesque myself (Trump takes everything to levels unseen by anyone not named Sarah Palin). I do think Brooklyn was a strange place to want a debate though. That's such heavy Clinton country that you'd think Sanders would want it somewhere that he's probably going to be a lot closer, maybe even like PA if he wanted another Northeast one.
Bernie was born and raised in Brooklyn, and it is the epicenter of hipster leftists. That was clearly a ploy to have a debate on what was essentially his home turf that could be misinterpreted as Hillary's home turf since she was NY Senator (thus making her look bad if the crowd was with Bernie). Also, that was the one he asked for in March, which you know Hillary has every nanosecond in March already booked. Like, blatantly a trap. Which, hey, I don't blame him for trying, and even maybe trying to make a thing of it, but to threaten to sit out all the other debates if she won't agree to it immediately is overplaying your hand.
Okay, hadn't realized Brooklyn was clearly the opposite. Bernie kind of fumbled if he was going for the trap thing anyway: New York doesn't even vote until April.
It really wasn't subtle at all.
Her campaign HQ is in Brooklyn, isn't it? Just seems odd choice on his part all around.
Clearly, it was "a trap" for Bernie to challenge Hillz to a debate in the NYC borough that houses her campaign headquarters. He's diabolical, I tellz ya!
I just meant that if he did insist on Brooklyn and then raise a stink, seems shortsighted. Not like him.
I think that the Sanders campaign was rightfully upset at the DNC for scheduling so few debates at such shitty times. Within the last few days, it sort of devolved. Who knows what really went on. They all worked things out and we will have more debates, which is a good thing because, for one thing, it will force CNN to stop being the "All Trump, All The Time" network.
But, and I have to say this, calling Bernie Sanders "Trumpesque" is a real fucking cheap shot. Can't we all just get along?
He threatened to sit out a debate. Is there a different descriptor you'd prefer for that kind of petulant behavior? Like I said, I have absolutely no problems with him asking for more debates, or even trying to slip in ones he knew would never fly, but saying he would do no more debates was a misstep so soon after the Trump thing. Can't we all take jokes?
