The wealthy working people have earned their right to live in the city. They went out, got an education, work hard, and earned it. I shouldn’t have to worry about being accosted. I shouldn’t have to see the pain, struggle, and despair of homeless people to and from my way to work every day.

I was at dinner with my friends down in SF, a couple of weeks before the superbowl, and the other guests said they'd closed the Embarcadero – down by the Farmers Market I think – and cordoned it off. Is that the section that was "cleansed" or was it more a citywide job for that weekend?
TBH Vancouver did the same thing with the downtown Eastside (Van's version of Tenderloin) for the Winter Olympics.
