It is good and for sure we're going to need insect protein in the future – there's nothing that comes close to the conversion ratio and rapidity of growth. Cicadas are delicious, BTW.
I know Monsanto, et.al. are furiously looking for patentable genotypes as we speak, but I think that there's so many insects out there that it wont' put a dent in the "grow your own" small scale culture. Eat local! I bet those huge desert crickets are tasty.
