  1. Wow, embarrassed that I didn't write that hed in Times style, which would have been:

"Caught Deconstructing Pro-Bernie Article, NYT Deploys “Public Editor” to Trowel Makeup Over Editorial Zits"

  2. Amazed in Arizona 6 hours ago [ wasn't me ]

Lesson learned: do not cite or provide a link to any NY Times article as there is no way to ensure that it continues to make the same point that it originally did. Thanks, I'll remember.

  3. Three editors told me in no uncertain terms that the editing changes had not been made in response to complaints from the Clinton camp. Did the Clinton people even reach out?

“Not that I know of,” Mr. Baquet told me in an email. The article’s immediate editor, Michael Tackett, agreed: “There’s zero evidence of that.”

Having the support of several super PACs, the Clinton campaign is well-versed in "uncoordinated" coordination.

(Seriously, the donation solicitation I got from Clinton that direly warned me that Sanders was "outraising and outspending us" maxed out my cynical guffaw quota for the rest of the week.)

    1. Also too: "There's zero evidence" does not necessarily mean "Did not happen." It could also mean "We covered our tracks."
