Friends and relations of mine who are otherwise sane often believe two things:
(1) that there should be no estate tax on anybody, ever, and
(2) that paying taxes of any kind is somehow shameful, or evidence that you are a fool, and that the more you pay the bigger fool you are.
Those who think the United States is going to become like Greece are helping it be so by promulgating these terrible concepts.

Really, the surprising thing to me is how the Bush-Cheney-GOP congress didn't sneak a death of the "death" tax post 9/11.
A few million dollars of lobbying and contributions to earn trillions in saved estate taxes sure looks like a solid investment.
