Me and a squall line hit the bridge at around the same time. Fun was had by all, except for my little Nissan's CVT: it had keep up around 3000 RPM just to maintain speed. If only I were going east…
Car's ambient air thermometer says the temp dropped 10 °F in less than an hour.
Sporty. Wundermap says the cold front's just west of Annapolis and directly over B'more, now. No rain here yet but the winds are getting squally and swinging from due South to NW. The weather radio only screamed at me twice tonight – it's probably waiting until 4 AM to tell me all hell's broken loose and the flying monkeys are on their way. Still 46 F outside. not for long. I'm not going near any of those bridges until this blows through, if I can help it. Wind gusts are howling now.
23:00: [Thomas Point Light] sees 29 knot winds from WNW (gusts to 37), i.e. pretty much straight down the bridge.
23:14: I'm in a gas station when I hear a thunderclap while I'm checking my battery's electrolyte levels ("fantastic!").
23:18 (approx.): I hit the bridge after deciding to skip checking tire pressure. WQNS664 sexbot still(!!!111!!11) fellating Gov. Hogan, then overpowered by some Spanish-language music programming as usually happens at this hour.
23:40: MdTA [tweets] "Condition–Fuck!" on the Bay Bridge.
23:45: MdTA [tweets] "Condition–HOLY SHIT!" on the Bay Bridge
It doesn't seem like things were downgraded back to "Condition–Fuck!" until 01:24
22 kts peak gust last night – and I'm surrounded by huge Loblolly pines. Branches and heli-seeds from the silver maples are everywhere. Did not lose power, amazingly enough.
That AM Bay Bridge fellatio-bot is worthless. the "Waze" app has saved my bacon numerous times, the sexbot: none.
The MdTA must have been real close to closing both spans down. I don't remember the wind speed criteria, but it's automatic once it hits.
Good thing that a) no one was running from the cops and b) nobody was tuned up on booze, weed and testosterone and decided to blast across the BB with a carload of friends when you were there. That's 2 span-closing accidents in as many weeks. At least there's no jumpers.
Nothin' here yet, but this front's gonna hit like a freight train tonight. THANKS PHIL
That must be a Canadian groundhog, it's drinking Newfie Screech.
Aptly named. You can drink it too, but you must kiss a cod first.
On the plus side, those two bridge traffic cams will be fun to watch.
OHAI!
If you see a lady on a bike carrying a little dog in a wicker basket fly by, let me know. I'll be hiding.
Rain's here!
Stay dry!

Yikes. Stay safe. I hope you're getting good tips for your troubles.

I actually passed that one going in the other direction, or at least the aftermath. Traffic was backed up into the toll plaza.
Phil sends you Eastcoasters his best.

That was last February, when we turned into the Hoth Ice planet for a month or so. Brrrr.
