  1. Guess I'll stop complaining about the fact that it's supposed to rain here all weekend. Hang in there, everyone!

  2. Outside Austin we're in for a week of lows in the upper 50s and highs in the upper 70s. Chance of rain Tuesday night. Extended forecast calls for more idiots.

    1. "The forecast for tonight is dark more idiots. Increasing dark numbers of idiots until morning, where we will be experiencing widely scattered light lunatics.

  3. Had to drive to NJ this AM to go to a funeral (and stand graveside in 45F pouring rain), then drive back up here where it is 34 and about to start snowing. Have I mentioned that my car heat doesn't work, only air conditioning? Yeah, I'm off to bury myself in every down item I own.

    1. Sucks. Funerals are no fun even in great weather and April 9th should by rights be way nicer than this.

If your ride has a ciggy lighter you could | get one of these. | What a friend of mine did who had an ancient VW bus with a totally rusted out heat manifold. "Course he had to wire in a power point in the dash too, but that's a whole 'nother trauma.

      1. Ooh, thanks, That looks way less expensive than figuring out how to fix the heating controller (for real, the thought gives me a headache).

        1. Nah worries. It's the kind of thing you have to stop at the Wal-Mart off the Interstate in East Bejeezus to get, after saying "fuck" a lot. Life on the road.

Should tide you over till it gets warm anyway. It's spring, or so they say.

      2. From personal experience with olde VW buses & bugs, fairly early you had two options with the heater – on or off, and that was summer or winter. Later, as C_R notes, the only option was off. Really coulda used one of those plug-ins.

      1. It was a friend from my fire company. He was 91, so it was not unexpected, but still unwelcome. I'm going to miss him.
