I've never seen it through a 'scope, so all I see is the reflection of the setting sun as it streaks across the sky. I don't even have my alerts set to show me the A.M. sightings, because who wants to get up before sunrise unless one has to?
I had to get up between 0430-0500 for about 35 years. It continued into retirement for a short while until I figured I'd seen enough sunrises for awhile.
