  1. I'd want my money back, an apology, and grammar sensitivity training for all bakery employees. "LOVE WINS FAG"? What is that supposed to mean?

    1. The schools just aren't teaching the proper use of the comma, Lot. Also not taught: how to represent words you're not allowed to print. I thought the icer had given a grade of F minus till I saw the video.

  2. According to a press release sent out by Kaplan Law Firm, Whole Foods reportedly said, “the store and its employee had done nothing wrong, and no action would be taken.”

UM…does Whole Foods really think this will go down well with their shoppers? Their customer base may skew towards the wealthier but they aren't wingnuts FFS…

We stand behind our bakery team member, who is part of the LGBTQ community, and the additional team members from the store, who confirmed the cake was decorated with only the message “Love Wins.”

You're calling the pastor a liar now? And it's OK if an LGBTQ employee does something inappropriate because "hey, he's also gay!"?

    1. I think they are flat-out saying that, and mentioning the employee's LGBTQness is saying "so why would they do this?" This implies the man unsealed the cake, added FAG, sealed it back up and then made the video for strange reasons of his own. Why are they doing this unless the whole store is a nest of FRC types dedicated to ridding Austin of gays (ha!)? Damfino.

  3. I've shopped at Whole Foods in Austin since about 1980 and every one of their staff has been what you might call 'alternative lifestyle' people. When the new, fancy headquarters store was opened some of the staff was asked to work at another store because of the large amount of piercings, body mods, etc., but that caused quite an uproar. Gays and lesbians have always worked there and been out so I really doubt this happened. All departments work in teams and if a team member ever expressed bias towards LGBT, people of color, or any other groups they would have been canned. If this actually did happened it was a personal snit between two people and the employee should be terminated.
