    Uhhhhhhhh… Was there any reason to believe he was considering running for a third term?

    1. Well, he "inherited" his first term when FDR died and so was eligible to run again in '52. But there's no question many people thought whatever the great warlord MacAuthur did was right, and anyone who opposed him was wrong. Support the troops! Thank you for your service! Old soldiers never die, they just expire on a VA waiting list.

    Several possibilities come to mind:
