Not sure he would say anything about it…………..unless someone asks him………….but if he says anything even remotely sane, it will be portrayed as 'New Trump'. Which might generate froth amongst his Trumpnuts.
"Mystic Eyes" is good too. Can't tell you what it felt like to be a junior in high school and hear this on the radio in 1965, maybe only once or twice, but I never forgot it. The disk jockeys had no idea what it was about. So few words, so much authentickety!
Of course it wasn't authentic; it was Van's take on the American R&B he grew up on, but it was still ten times better than "Our Day Will Come" by Ruby and the Romantics.
