Speaking as someone who chose not to have a kid, I can tell you that it came up, alright: if I had a dollar for every person who told me I'd regret not having kids I could retire now.
What's weird about the choice of not having kids is that everyone—even the ones making the choice, which includes me—seems to think the choice requires an explanation.
