  1. Here's the entire text of the story, emphasis added:

Aurora police are investigating a homicide after a welfare check at Burlington Coat Factory on Sunday night where an seriously injured woman was found.

Aurora police were called to the store's parking lot at 1200 South Abilene St. at about 9:59 p.m. Aurora police spokeswoman Crystal McCoy said the woman had life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Police said Monday morning the name of the victim would be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office once her next of kin has been notified.

McCoy said they do not expect to have another update Monday about the shooting because of the ongoing investigation.

This is a breaking news story and it will be updated as new details are available.

    1. I think they mean welfare check as in checking in on someone to see if they're OK, rather than a piece of paper, if that's what you mean.

      1. Makes sense. I thought maybe somebody blew away a store patron because she wanted to use a welfare check to buy a down parka. Maybe this whole post should disappear, since it seems to have lost its funneh for me at least.
