While I totes don't approve of homophobia, I have to admit that in this particular case, yelling "you sing like a girl" is pretty damn funny. That obv doesn't excuse all the other BS though. Also too, what moron sound guy thinks he's going to be able to amplify several dozen singers spread a quarter of the way across the outfield with a single SM58 on a Shure RF mic? I've got a graduation ceremony next week where about 20-25 kids sing on the football field somewhat next to the P.A. and I'm going to use a half dozen condenser mics and still need to judiciously EQ to push them out. Maybe the sound guy played the tape of the chick singer because he was scared shitless of the disaster he knew was coming.
I can see why they might not be wanted. They sing the National Anthem and don't extemporize all over it.
