Did you just happen across this or is there some 'headline deals' site that alerts you about great deals? $20 is about as much as I can spend on an e-reader!
btw, the basic Fire tablet is currently $40 (for real, no mistake). It's a tablet, not e-ink, so the battery life is only a couple days, but it does have a microSD slot so you can expand the memory down the road. Warning via LGM, if anyone mentions Maureen Dowd over the next 72 hours, run away. Just a sample from there and I've pretty much lost the will to live. Two most troubling observations:
"…..disaster even by Dowd’s extremely low standards…."
"Jesus God, this is horrific."
As near as I can tell, it goes beyond the sneering, sniffing, 'aren't I contrary/clever'……. to an attempt at actual humor. You go ahead………I……..I can't go on…….
I honestly don't get MoDo. She's not funny, she's not witty, she's not relevant, she's not hip – she's often inane, offensive and stupid and maddening, and she's got some frickin' weird obsessions that she seems to not realize are apparent to everyone. It's like dealing with some crazy person who lives in a mental bubble where how they view themselves is the opposite of reality.
This is a horrible thing to say, but I feel like Aaron Sorkin sucked whatever cleverness and relevance she ever had out of her when they had sex back during the Bill Clinton era.
