If you're wondering how much he was liked in Ohio, he won Athens County. I'm not sure I can remember another Republican in a statewide race that pulled that off. Obviously, I don't agree with everything he was for, but this was a Republican that was okay with some tax increases, had at least some views in favor of gun control, and despite putting some money for religious schools he also stepped in to save a historically black college in Ohio as well. He even voted to repeal DADT near the end of his term in congress. If he represented a normal Republican instead of the idiots that run the party today, we'd have two viable parties instead of one.
