Thanks, so far so good! A big swath of central MD just got hit pretty hard, thousands of people are out of power, trees down, flooding, hail, etc. Still operational at HQ, front's passed (temps have nosedived from 90's to the upper 60's behind the front. The line is hitting home right now, but the weather station is still online so we're OK right now. Temp is down to 69.7 F from a high of 87.8 F. gusty winds and drizzle, but that will get worse.
Seems like one of those lines that you just hope the damage isn't too nasty and people are okay. Sounds like you're handling it all right, glad to hear it's going relatively well so far!
Yes thanks! It'll be an – interesting – ride home, but it looks like the real ugly weather missed us. The system's blowing through very fast, so we got that going for us. Which is nice.
Isn't it nice having a home weather station online? Lets you know more than the weather- especially if you don't see it reporting.
Exactly. It's my hack to see if the power and cable is still on, and on the Davis site I can even see the conditions inside.
I have mine reporting to wunderground, but I have sensors throughout my house that show the temp in almost every room going to a little program I wrote. Found out when I started insulating my house, hard to tell what works when you don't know the before and after.
It is a nice little sanity check when you're away from home that there's an "all's well"
I'm here. Cally's prob at work. I don't think there's any scary fiery stuff too close to either of us today. At least not anything new. The weather's a lot cooler today, too.
Ya know, it's slim % that any of these poppers will make it into the valley, but you'd think a 'might' would be in the forecast.
NWS, WU, Intel, all have 00.00 % chance. http://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?rid=EMX&pr…

srsly- be safe, folks!
Hope you're all right there, it's getting really nasty. They put MD in an enhanced risk area just like an hour ago, it seems.

Model run of winds about a mile up, some of that might mix to the surface in thunderstorms.
Seems like most major models have 60 knots minimum over this area so wow, if the thunderstorms get together, look out.
Crikey. That's a lot of energy sitting up there.
WIND PORN
Don't see Close Read around today. Cally has been on main page.
Yeah, there's a lot of scary firey stuff going on too close to them. I hope they're both OK.
I'm here. Cally's prob at work. I don't think there's any scary fiery stuff too close to either of us today. At least not anything new. The weather's a lot cooler today, too.
Well, you could at least call and tell us……………would it hurt so much……..
