  1. On crime, the researchers found a total of 115 police calls to areas within 500 feet of strip clubs between Jan. 31 and July 30 last year, or an average of about 10 per location. The numbers ranged from zero at Little Darlings in Lemon Grove to 25 at Fantasy Show Girls on University Avenue and 26 at Pure Platinum on Kearny Mesa Road — the latter two in San Diego.

Two things… 10 police calls per location for a half-year's business doesn't seem exactly low (although I guess if they are comparing the numbers to night clubs, yeah, maybe, whatever). But mostly, I just put the quote here because those are the most typical names of strip clubs in the history of strip clubs, and therefore I LOLed.

    1. San Diego has a rich history with strip joints, in that about 12 years ago one of them more-or-less bribed three city councilmen to induce them to lift the ban on lap dancing. All three were convicted on corruption charges and resigned. One died, one went to the slammer, and the third is now the head of the municipal employees' union.
