We've been making music almost as long as we've been on the planet, pretty much all the notes have been used up.

One of the best female vocalists ever passed through The Loading Zone, Linda Tillery. I think she's still out there, though she'd be near 70 by now.
The upgrade path leads to endless tweaking, $1,100 RCA cables and like. I should know.
But you should consider a USB DAC if you don't already have one.
I am a poor, so audio upgrades are pretty low on my list. Also, tinnitus.

That's very nice. The "classical" version of Rodrigo's "Concierto di Aranjuez" has some of the most dazzlingly difficult guitar riffs I've ever heard.
