It looks like the Sand Fire is, if not totally out, then no longer an Incident. The Pilot Fire is the only active one that's close to LA now.
NBC's broadcast Olympic coverage has to be the worst in recorded history. It's like watching the second half of the Today show for hours, with all those soft-focus human interest stories with the slow, sad piano notes in the background. I've had to stop.
Drought conditions over there, too, huh? Ugh. I hear roasted Prickly Pear cactus is great, if you burn off all the spines.

Hey, if it makes you feel any better, parts of my area have reached severe drought too!
I'm going back to CA this morning. It'll only be about 102 there, instead of 108 here. It's the little things.
