His worst sin: inventing the "news" show format in which journos yak angrily at each other about things they "cover" and therefore consider themselves experts on. Nothing is less informative.

Didja know they used to stage private "performances" of the show for corporate retreats and the like? And aren't you glad you never worked at a corporation that chose to punish its employees in that fashion?
On Twitter I saw "John McLaughlin dies" and thought they meant |this guy|. Checked the link and it's this old fart. They shouldn't be allowed to do that, it's not good for me nerves.
Thank you sir or madam! The service in this joint is terrific, even if the behavior of IntenseDebate is inscrutable. You just can't scrute it.
Back in the day, before cable and dial-up, I would watch this show occasionally — just to see what "conservatives" actually thought. Nowadays this guy would be looked at as an Alinsky devotee. And little did we know this was the demon seed for Föx and Friends, et.al.
I used to like Eleanor Clift when she was on, but after about two episodes with Monica Crowley, I had to stop watching forever. As if Pat Buchanan wasn't bad enough. McLaughlin won't be missed. Not by me, anyway.

I'm surprised that he lasted this long. He looked like he was going to have a heart attack during his rants.
The late, great [Jack Germond] was asked why he appeared on the show and said "it put my daughters through college".
He was never afraid to let his disgust show through. It was the only time the show was watchable.

I was gonna say- fallen priest maybe, but he was great in the Mahavishnu Orchestra
