    1. Windows and Trump, both on their way to being irrelevant failures?

You keep it up, pal, and I'm setting you up on a blind date with Sarah Hepola.

        1. When I was in the Air Force they were on a huge aerobics kick, and you had to do 1.5 mi in 12 minutes or get a court-martial. I hit 11 minutes once.

Callyson probably finds this humorous if not contemptible, which is why I bring it up.

          1. I have a goal. My goal is to be able to bend over and tie a pair of shoes onto my feets and then go to the gym. The last few years have not been kind…

          2. Running is not on my horizon, it never was. I just don't want to atrophy into one of those gelatinous blobs on a hoveround. Chronic pain is a serious demotivator, though. I can see how someone ends up that way.

          3. I hear you, brother! I have a condition where if I stay sitting (driving too) for too long, I turn into a sore old man. Me and my family, exercise is the only non-steroidal anti-inflammatory that works on us, so I’m like the Red Queen, running to stay in place. I find if I don’t exercise regularly, things get worse in a hurry.Good luck and you’re clearly doing the right thing.>

          4. Let's see, a couple of years back, in my first (and probably last) 5k to raise money for my kid's school, I was a hair under an 8 minute mile for the whole run, so…yeah. I run in the hills so running in the flats is different for me. Haven't run short distances for speed in a long time. I just keep track of my times as a general indication of health.

I have heard that your speed in a 1.5 mile run is a good indication of your cardiovascular health.

          5. I'm not the fastest runner, sadly. On my best day I might be able to do that run, but I'd need a respirator afterwards FFS.

          6. That was a long time ago. These days I swim a mile, five days a week if I'm diligent. Takes me a while, but there's no stopping. Much easier on the knees and foot bones.
