So Frank, the woman who got the shit beat out of her by her abusive old man deserved it because she "cried wolf" back when he only hit her once? Best not to say anything, because it will only make things worse, amirite? Ask John Kerry how that "take the high road and stay quiet" approach worked out for him. Good thing his silence kept the GOP from upping the ante in 2008…
Good old NYT, concern trolling Dems- no wonder they constantly whine about "keeping their powder dry"
I am so over the NYT. I remember when I used to read almost every article, every day: now, half the time I don't even get to the 10 per month private browser of the day that I am entitled to. I won't stop going there entirely because they do have Paul Krugman and Gail Collins and Nicolas Kristof, but they are not the must-read they used to be, that's for sure.
Oh, honey, you don't even want to get me started on my rant on the once-promising LA Times. The only saving grace being that Christine Bellantoni and some others are trying to resurrect it, but it's not at all clear that they can do so, and their fucking pro-Trump tracking poll is not helping things any…
WaPo let themselves off the hook to a large degree (ask them why one of the two stories is on the front page while the other is buried deep in the politics section), but this op-ed does a pretty good job of exposing the blatant hypocrisy going on with the media this election cycle. On the one hand, Trump gets oodles of free press and is covered wall to wall, but he's covered like a curiosity, like a celebrity, for the entertainment value. There's no digging, no investigation, no follow up- it's always off to the next whacky adventure with The Donald. OTOH, with Hillary it's relentless attacks and never letting go, no matter how long they beat the dead horse-keep digging until SOMETHING comes up. If nothing does, break out the JAQ nonsense. Questions are being asked, there's a cloud over this issue, some people are saying, there may be more to this, etc. etc…
While the media has always had their agendas and bias, I've never seen such blatant "news creation" to try to influence an election. While they go all out to catch Clinton at something, anything- they just can't wait to give Trump a pass and they fall all over themselves to legitimize him at every opportunity. Sure, they cover his fuck-ups, but it's strictly for the sensationalism of it, no deeper analysis. Many of his screw ups would have ended any other campaign, but he's just too good of a story to risk giving him the same scrutiny that any other politician would get. And they aren't even trying to hide the fact that ratings are the only thing they care about anymore.

Prescient, thoughtful analysis from you, as always. Are you sure you came to the right place?
I'm here for the rat genitals…

LA Times is just the western neighborhood edition of the Chicago Tribune.

Who would have thought we'd be nostalgic for the days of the Chandlers?

Most days I delete their email, unopened.

your Google search history must be as ugly as mine, lol
Pretty dull mostly, but with the occasional search for 'rat genitals' and the like.
DuckDuckGo FTW
Well, isn't this just a variant of Thanks Obama?
Blame the black guy is so old. I'm looking forward to blame the chick!
