  1. “Why don’t you go live in Sweden and get the heck out of our country,” Mr. Blue wrote.” I will continue to roll coal anytime I feel like and fog your stupid eco-cars.”
    NO RELATION!!!

          1. Also, I wonder if this,,and Leon in general, influenced Tom Waits . I can almost hear TW messing with that tune. Can find no reference one made about the other. They were indicted into the RR Hall of Cleveland at the same time though.

Now that you mention it… yeah. Maybe its' just parallel evolution, if there's no real linky to be found. Awful lot of similarity, though.

          3. At least one person at LastFM had this thought on MD&E

reminds me of Please call me,baby (w Tom Waits)

            Probably parallel.

Tom woulda been 20 when MD&E came out in 70, and the Ballad a year later.. In 1972 Tom signed with Asylum ………..and who was with Asylum then?

            DUN DUN DUN>>>>>>>>>>>……..
But Tom had already written and recorded [but not released ] a lotta stuff .
So no real scoop I guess.

          4. Out here on the road again

Yeah, he probably did. I wouldn't have the string fill, but it lends a certain sense of expression to the background that he probably liked.

  2. Coal rollers’ frequent targets: walkers, joggers, cyclists…

Yes, Heaven forbid anyone should be allowed to get some exercise. Won't someone please think about the poor couch potatoes who might take offense because someone else wants to be healthy?

    /FFS

        1. Maybe when you live in the desert you don't think anyone else should have a nice environment either.

Either that or the sun just cooks their brains.

          1. There seems to be an anti-environment element back home in the Owens Valley now, too. If not the environment itself, at least anti-treehugger. And that seems to be what's happening with this coal-rolling shit. Anything to piss off a librul.
