Not only did she lead the efforts to defeat the ERA, not only did she support Goldwater, fight to deny gays, women, people of color equal rights with white males, but God blessed her with a |son who came out as gay.| because god has a sense of humor.
The death was first announced by Eunie Smith, first vice president of the Eagle Forum, the group Schlafly founded in the 1970s. “There will never be another Phyllis Schlafly,” Smith’s statement said.
Here's hoping!
And Sarah Palin, Miche1e Bachmann: you never were nor will be in her league.
Schlaffly killed the ERA. Pat Buchanan said so. That was a terrible thing to do. It should be resurrected and ratified to help us all dance on her grave.
That's her nephew. He's a legal powerhouse in St Louis, started the microbrewery as a sideline. Had to get the Legi to adjust the statutes a bit, as the competitor down the street had gotten a law passed making it illegal to manufacture beer in MO unless you produce at least 50 million barrels a year or some shit like that.
Iconic. Heroic. No one can fill her sensible high heeled shoes. She opened my eyes to the rights and wrongs in worldly government back in my college days as she spoke about the Reagan era and all that Reagan's pro-America efforts were doing for our great country. Many of us owe our political awakening to Phyllis Schlafly.
Our friend is now in the arms of her Lord, rooting for all of us – and expecting us! – to do the right thing.
She's making sammiches for god now.
Or Fat Tony.

OMG Twitter is absolutely wonderful about this. Here's a sampling:
God never takes a Gene Wilder without relieving us of a Phyllis Schlafly.
I am sad that Phyllis Schlafly did not live to see November 8, 2016
Phyllis Schlafly died doing what she loved: trying to prevent the less-fortunate from getting help
Perhaps it's ghoulish to cheer the demise of a human being. Therefore let's celebrate that everything Schlafly fought against outlives her.
If these things really do come in threes, may I nominate Pat Robertson? Or the other Pat? Buchanan?
I'm not wishing death on anyone, but I'd take the former.
Why not both? Oh right, I forgot John McLaughlin started this round.
More Twitter:
RIP Phyllis Schlafly, a human of whom the best thing I can say is she looked a little like top human Elaine Stritch.
Anti-choice, anti-gay #PhyllisSchlafly has died. May she find in death the peace she sought to deny so many in life.
I shall note Phyllis Schlafly's passing by putting on this t-shirt:

Also too, there is |This.|
And more Twitter: At the very least, at the VERY LEAST, I know that my circle of hell will be doper than Phyllis Schlafly's
Phyllis Schlafly made a career out of telling other women to get back in the kitchen. Condolences to her family but that's it.
And my fav so far: Phyllis Schlafly ran a major dogfighting ring and I'm not sorry she died.
If you haven't got anything nice to say…come on over to Wonkville!

Twitter: Rest in Peace Phyllis Schlafly who lived long enough to see most of her political views become culturally & legally unacceptable.

Twitter: Phyllis Schlafly now officially dead. Hell and Mordor belch flames in celebration.
I have never killed any one, but I have read some obituary notices with great satisfaction.

Ding dong.

Electing a female President who worked hard on her career instead of staying home to bake cookies would be a good start.
Dr Jill Stein gets my vote then!
Ooh, so close!
Someone who dedicated her life to getting rid of the rights of others? Yeah, not sad she's gone.
Sad that she had that point of view.
Phyllis may be gone, but at least we still have the beer.

She Went Down Swinging! – Phyllis Schlafly.
May she rest in peace.
