I was thinking the same thing this morning. The only unfortunate thing is that when Hillz trounces Trump people will expect it and so will the Republicans, so it won't deliver nearly the satisfaction that came from watching their utter shock when Romney lost.
Also too, isn't it interesting how Romney and Palin are so very quiet this cycle? They hardly get in the news at all.
Oh noes, Palin and Romney nostalgia.
*gargle vomits*
There was an article that I saw back around June, where Romney was talking at some luncheon and he helpfully gave his opinion that Hillary was "awful." He expounded on his theme – just on and on – derpty-derp, with all his Deep Thoughts. It was the stupidest thing. What on earth did he think he was accomplishing? It was just so dumb and egotistical. I'm sure it made him feel very emotionally satisfied to say it, that's all I can think of.
Well written Gary. Let's hope you're right.
But I won't feel better until Richard Cohen pipes in.
In 2012, for example, Republican nominee Mitt Romney was supposed to have momentum after he performed much more strongly in his first debate against Barack Obama than most people expected. During this year’s Democratic primaries, Sen. Bernie Sanders was said to have momentum when he won the Michigan primary and again when he won Wisconsin a few weeks later.
But nothing about Romney’s debate performance or Sanders’ primary victories changed anything about the underlying factors that had Obama and Clinton in the lead in those two races.
It creeps me out every time somebody says "the President's job is to keep us safe." It's not. The president's job is to run the executive branch of the government of the United States.
Paul Ryan has called for Trump to release his taxes. There's bound to be some things in there that would work against him. Maybe the GOP is willing to sacrifice Trump to try to hold the Senate.
Naw, Lyin Ryan is just covering his ass to keep his Villager VIP status. "Hey, I asked, you can't blame me that he didn't comply!" But he'll still endorse Drumpf even as Donnie blows him off…
Erstwhile Wonkette writer Gary Legum says don't |worry.|
I'm liberal, my job is to freak out at every little thing.
Some perspective may be helpful:

Phrases like "xenophobic Creamsicle" do make me miss the old days with Gary.
I want to believe…
I know C_R_ has an lp for this.
Indeed.

It shouldn't be this close. WTF is wrong with people?
They want Daddy to keep them safe from the boogey man.
They are afraid of what will happen to them if people who are different from them control the levers of power.
Have you seen our ratings?
Confused – I don't get what you mean – Hillz' ratings? (???)
Je suis désolé. I should have prefaced with:
*vox of media executive*
Ah, OK, now that makes sense. I just couldn't figure out what you meant – Wonkville's ratings? Dem's ratings? lol
Charlie is right

Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, Islamophobia,… Need I go on?
They rarely stop to think that all the others who are not them have had to deal with that impacting their lives for all of time.
You forgot xenophobia. Zimaphobia? Xenaphobia? Hard to tell, the way Drumpf pronounced it.
Nobody liked Zima.
Right, and now this Zima virus thing is totally out of control THANKS OBAMA
30 years of delicious, carefully tailored propaganda?
They probably would be higher if Google liked Wonkette more. I really wish Google would un-block Google ads for Trix. It's stupid.
Thing is, it's not enough for Hillz to just scrape by. She needs a triumph, and a Senate majority at least.
That settles it–carving out time in my schedule for yoga. Which I will have to do every day between now and the election FFS.
