Speaking of arbitrary frames of reference, a while back I was wandering through the weeds of astrology sites and found one speculating on the "great year" of axial precession and the wandering of the northward equinox. We're in the "Age of Pisces" because the equator crosses the ecliptic in that constellation (and you know damned well which "Age" we're approaching!). The Roman Empire was founded in the Age of Aeries, the Babylonians were doing their thing in the Age of Taurus, etc.
The author was speculating what point of origin the ancient aliens would set as the starting point, and decided on Gemini, where the ecliptic crosses the Milky Way.
Seems as reasonable a starting point as any other.
I'm not gonna lie. I thought for sure you were going to lead us|here|

Sneider conceived of the idea during an existentially significant hike in Marin Headlands, California, earlier this year…
Doooooooood.
No, no, let me light that for you.
Marin Headlands, I know them well.

Yeah, one time I snorted too much heat stroke too.

Gonna go out on a limb and suggest he hasn't read up enough on the subject to encounter the "mas" (tequila!).
I'd walk a microparsec for a camel?
Smoke enough of those and you'll be lucky if you can still walk a light-nanosecond!
I thought we barred spirals from Wonkville Post pics
Mods are Gods.
Although irregular, I bow to your elliptical logic
Are you sure you want to engage in such hyperbola?

Fixed, mostly, except for your name. Had to substitute your image because yours was way too huge.
