    1. I think In-n-Out has far worse fries than 5 guys. They're limp and screaming for salt. Five guys are just kinda limp but well-salted.

  1. I like their fries. Not the best, but good, IMHO. As far as their name,I know, right? Their sign is false advertising. Also, bonus for discreet bible verse references on their packaging.

  2. The one I visit occasionally in Vegas is remarkably fast. You'll get your food much sooner than a table will open up to eat at.

      1. I don't handle the extremes as well as I used to, but many times there's no place to sit out there, either! It's an hour drive, so I don't eat there unless I'll be in town for something else. And in truth, I'm not even at the desert compound that often anymore. Which doesn't explain why I'm going there tomorrow, but yet there I will be.

      1. You know, I was just about to reply with I'd never heard of the place, but a friend took me there a couple of years ago. It was excellent! I just don't like visiting the Strip if I can help it.

        1. I watch his cooking show on PBS and he has several restaurants just in Vegas. I'm not big on avant-garde burgers (lamb, salmon, etc) but everything on the show looked awesome. We now have a Shake Shack in Austin but I haven't made it there yet. We raise ducks on the farm and duck fat is THE WAY to cook fries! (Although I've heard they use horse fat in Belgium.)

          1. Wasn't aware of his show, either.

Shake Shack is a good dependable burger. I've only been to the one at the South Pointe Casino in Vegas, so can't say if the quality is chain wide, but that one's good. Not great, but consistently good.
