I honestly don't know how we ever did it in the days before early voting. Sure, the population was much smaller, but still–we did it all on one day, with paper ballots and hand counts. And to make matters worse, you couldn't even buy booze until the polls closed!
No one could have predicted that a presidential candidate insulting and viciously attacking an entire class of Americans for a year could have this kind of effect.
35 years ago, legacy media organizations collectively agreed to withhold election day data from their audiences. They decided it was too dangerous for the public to handle. Politicians agreed with this, believing real time data and projections would keep voters away from the polls and skew the outcome.
So edgy! So subversive! So disruptive! Where can I watch the TED Talk?
(And polling opens in Guam and the Marianas at 0700K [2100Z, 1600R] for those who want to get their drink on early.)
Ladies and gentlemen, if it helps, Election Season 2020 is an entire week shorter than was 2016, thanks to Election Day this year being in the second week of November rather than the first ([tl;dr])
She's NZ born and raised, came to USA in the 80's, gained permanent resident alien status but never sought citizenship. Married a friend of mine who later died, then married another friend and convinced him and her son to give NZ a try. It's been about 20 years now. His mother in California is ill, he wants to see her before she passes. Then they won't be able to afford to return to NZ. They both have health issues that I don't think they'll survive if forced into USAmerican system…

I can't imagine since we don't do it that well now.
It was a lot simpler before the blahs and wimmenfolk were allowed to vote.

I've got friends in NZ that have been thinking of returning here, but we've been trying to convince them otherwise.
Hoping you get some clear skies to enjoy the austral constellations and Magellanic Clouds.
I've heard NZ is often a one way trip- can't make enough money there to get back?

Remember: Campaign 2020 begins this Wednesday!
How depressing is that?
I laughed because it was cleaner than projectile vomit! Well played, indeed.

God help us all.
