When I tried to find a "100,000" number on Google News I couldn't, but I did notice that the LAT said 10,000 to 15,000 and all the other mainstream media said the same numbers, but Fox news said 3,000 and Brietbart said 8,000. I guess that's how they do it.
A friend of mine who voted for Trump (professional friend, for lack of a better way to put it), has an article on her Facebook feed about some Muslim woman who says "I am voting for Trump!" The ol' "see, here's one of those people who agrees with my view, erg my view has validity!"
I've made a mental note of the few people who "liked" it, not that I am at all surprised by who "liked" it.
My social media circle is shrinking, for sure. One "friend" that I've never met started a group called "Just Us Talking", a veritable echo chamber of libtards. Over 100 members in less than eight hours, so I don't feel so all alone.

I also frequent Sons of Sam Horn, a Red Sox website (members only, you have to show you're capable of thought and civility). Up until this year I've followed it for baseball only, but this year started looking at the "News and Views" discussions. It's probably about 80% liberals and the guy who actually runs the site hates the ACA and is not an Obama fan, but still thought Hillz was a far better choice than Trump. Of course, I only have to look to my sister and her family for Trump supporters, but so far she's avoided talking politics with me this season.
I try to avoid the echo chamber. Glad to have you all, have some laughs. I like small groups. I wonder if fucking facebook with its goal of "keep people using it as much as possible" is a new, reinforcing technology to be reckoned with, like radio in the 1930s- hell, the internet as a whole (and a stinking hole).
My most enduring group has been together on one platform or another since about 1998. We are friends, fans and family of a radio station from the Santa Cruz area, KPIG. We hail from around the world, and at our many gatherings throughout the years, several members have flown from halfway around the world to meet up. Also mostly liberals, but there's a few dissenters. We still love them. One's from Pennsyltucky, another is from Alberta. Tellingly enough, the Albertan would fight to the death for his healthcare…
you know, seriously, I have been considering making a "members only" group of people from both sides, so long as they're willing to engage in productive, civil discussion. The SoSH website, mentioned above, seems to serve this purpose for me. I'm glad I sent a person message to an admitted "Kasich Republican" before the election telling him I'd try to avoid the snark and appreciated him at least being able to discuss and argue points in a civil way. On one hand, I don't want to demonize people, on the other, I ain't no pushover either.

A married couple in our group lives in Ann Arbor MI. She has serious health issues. We set up a GoFundMe that raised enough $$$ to get a stair lift installed in their condo. The guy in Alberta's wife has been hospitalized since March with meningitis. We haven't had to raise a dime for her. How about that. But despite their politics, you can bet we would have, if there was a need. We all celebrate together, and grieve together. Not much love for one anothers sports teams, however.

In my little town last night a group of girls, I'm guessing high school age, staged a protest on our main street by the park entrance, signs saying things like, "Not My President" and "Pussy Grabs Back" etc. and lots of cars driving by honking support. Their parents were all standing off to either side, about ten feet away, just standing there for them. It was inspiring – bringing up the next generation of activists.
Very cool. Good to see they young'uns stay or get tough. We were out at a bar last night- me and 4 chicks! How do I do it? Easy- one was a friend of ours, the other two a gay couple, and my missus. I was the only middle aged white guy so of course I wore my safety pin, and the barmaid had hers on too. Nice to see.
