The crinkly edges of the Chesapeake Bay being what they are, I regularly see St. Michaels to the south (and Rock Hall to the north) whenever I drive over the Kent Narrows on US 50, but it's a heck of a drive from point A to point B. Reply
I had a friend in grad school who said you could canoe across the US, with your longest portage being 7 miles. She was a tough cookie. Reply
I'm thinking there's gonna be a lot of those 7 mile humps. I'm still waiting for the Northwest Passage, myself. As a ragboat sailor, I demand it. Reply
