After having had various levels of clearance up to TS, and having been the guy on the classified-document-security blame line for various organizations, I can say that the rules are complex and contradictory and almost impossible to comply with while still doing your job.
Compromising classified information is like Sin: everyone has done it. When Grand Inquisitor Comey (or anybody else who wants to take you down) goes after you, you will fall.
That doesn't mean this Used General Flynn isn't an asshole. He pretty clearly is, and if classified document security is the cross to which he must be nailed, let's get the toolbox.
