  1. That's Jessa, the sweet doggy I took care of for about a year and a half (she was my sister's, then my niece's, then "mine," then my mom's). We also lost her this year.

JFC. Can everyone just stop dying? kthx.

      1. About 8 years old. My mom said she "had" to put her down because she "attacked" one of the neighbor dogs. That happened last spring and, yes, I'm still pissed off about it all.

        1. Oh man, that's a bummer. My bro has a rescue dog, who IMHO is a lawsuit waiting to happen, he nipped my bro's neighbor and once went after my kid when we were visiting. I told my bro, letting him go off leash, trouble is only a matter of time. The dog is OK with me now, now that he's seen me 3 times, but yikes.

    1. I had a really bad cold the last two weeks, went for an abbreviated run on Friday (first time in 2 weeks), turned out to be a little too soon, but I feel better today than yesterday.

  2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay clinches a playoff berth:
    1) TB win + WAS tie + GB loss + TB clinches strength of victory tiebreaker over GB
(Note: TB clinches strength of victory tiebreaker over GB if all of the following teams win: TEN, IND, DAL and SF)

    lmao

      1. I swear, if this game means my team is exhausted during the playoff game and loses, I will be pissed. I know we rested some of our key players, but still…

    1. Only half of my household can be happy for you, and tepidly. I'm not a big fan of CTE injuries, and the missus hates Tom Brady.

  3. There's a ref in the SEA-SF game (I think that was the game, the RedZone broadcast is all over the place) that looks like John McCain. Or at least I thought so. I dunno, all of those white-haired round-faced honkies look the same to me.

  4. Hi Cally, apparently a long-distance running race or something like that from Sapporo is trending worldwide on Twitter. I don't know the details but thought you'd like to know that it made it that high 😀

    Edit: it's apparently a long-distance relay race

      1. I'd translate if I knew Japanese :( Had to find an English tweet and look it up from there because a run in Sapporo in January was shocking before I looked into it

    1. BTW — I refreshed my supply of TDA2050 Mind Control chips (which would be top secret if they hadn't gone obsolete). Lemme know if you need some.

  5. I tend to avoid any activities where a machine takes me up a snow covered slope so I can slide down, but I'm grateful for the ski resorts, as they keep the hiking trails from being clogged with people in the winter.

  6. Chairlifts create a culture of dependency. You can't truly appreciate gravitational potential energy unless you've earned it yourself, the old-fashioned way. Pull yourself up by your ski boot straps!

  7. On the other side of the coin, the first weekend in May used to be the biggest ski weekend on Mt Washington in New Hampshire. No lifts. I've seen people hiking up the trail with their skis and a case of beer on their backs as well. Hard core fun!
