That's Jessa, the sweet doggy I took care of for about a year and a half (she was my sister's, then my niece's, then "mine," then my mom's). We also lost her this year.
About 8 years old. My mom said she "had" to put her down because she "attacked" one of the neighbor dogs. That happened last spring and, yes, I'm still pissed off about it all.
Oh man, that's a bummer. My bro has a rescue dog, who IMHO is a lawsuit waiting to happen, he nipped my bro's neighbor and once went after my kid when we were visiting. I told my bro, letting him go off leash, trouble is only a matter of time. The dog is OK with me now, now that he's seen me 3 times, but yikes.
I had a really bad cold the last two weeks, went for an abbreviated run on Friday (first time in 2 weeks), turned out to be a little too soon, but I feel better today than yesterday.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay clinches a playoff berth:
1) TB win + WAS tie + GB loss + TB clinches strength of victory tiebreaker over GB
(Note: TB clinches strength of victory tiebreaker over GB if all of the following teams win: TEN, IND, DAL and SF)
I swear, if this game means my team is exhausted during the playoff game and loses, I will be pissed. I know we rested some of our key players, but still…
There's a ref in the SEA-SF game (I think that was the game, the RedZone broadcast is all over the place) that looks like John McCain. Or at least I thought so. I dunno, all of those white-haired round-faced honkies look the same to me.
Two protesters were charged with trespassing following the Minnesota Vikings-Chicago Bears game at U.S. Bank Stadium, after they unfurled a banner from the stadium's rafters protesting U.S. Bank's involvement with the Dakota Access Pipeline.
Hi Cally, apparently a long-distance running race or something like that from Sapporo is trending worldwide on Twitter. I don't know the details but thought you'd like to know that it made it that high 😀
I'd translate if I knew Japanese Had to find an English tweet and look it up from there because a run in Sapporo in January was shocking before I looked into it
I tend to avoid any activities where a machine takes me up a snow covered slope so I can slide down, but I'm grateful for the ski resorts, as they keep the hiking trails from being clogged with people in the winter.
Chairlifts create a culture of dependency. You can't truly appreciate gravitational potential energy unless you've earned it yourself, the old-fashioned way. Pull yourself up by your ski boot straps!
On the other side of the coin, the first weekend in May used to be the biggest ski weekend on Mt Washington in New Hampshire. No lifts. I've seen people hiking up the trail with their skis and a case of beer on their backs as well. Hard core fun!

JFC. Can everyone just stop dying? kthx.
She looks like a sweet dog and the photo is nice.
Nice doggie. How old was she?

Doing my long run today so I have to miss the early games. But I can't wait for tonight's Lions – Packers throwdown!

Ouch…get well soon!

OVERTIME? WTF? Fucking lose already, Steelers, and get some rest before the game that actually matters FFS!
I want this game to end in a tie right now
Congrats on the win, I think?

"lol resting starters"
-fan of a 4-6 team that has had to win out to get a shot tonight
That result from 1st and goal is the most Browns thing possible.
I doan wanna know.
So… did I will all the fantasy hobo beans this year? I'd check, but that would mean figuring out my password.
Also, too, the Pats have clinched top seed for home field advantage. I know you all are thrilled for me.

Only half of my household can be happy for you, and tepidly. I'm not a big fan of CTE injuries, and the missus hates Tom Brady.
Mods, another in moderation, if you could please…

The white zone is for immediate loading and unloading of passengers only. There is no stopping in the red zone.
Unless you're in Cleveland.
[Got something good for us, ESPN linky]?

Edit: it's apparently a long-distance relay race
Looks interesting, but most of the tweets are in Japanese. Glad it's getting attention, though!

The Packers – Lions throwdown is ON!

If and when smokey destroys me, I will get her a Zach Zenner jersey. Go #34!
when she destroys you
Clinched a playoff spot with the Washington loss but still want that division title!

BTW — I refreshed my supply of TDA2050 Mind Control chips (which would be top secret if they hadn't gone obsolete). Lemme know if you need some.
I heard there's a bug in those that allows them to perform mind control.
Right? I wouldn't wear that.
Since he was 84 he was probably ready to go. Maybe he sacrificed himself to save another.
It's good that there's at least a dozen of those so far.
then I'm happy and sad for you
I have a guy in my neighborhood, 93, he still jogs

"Concentration camps for assholes"
Cross-country snobbery if ever I've encountered it.
one must imagine Sisyphus happy
