1. I'm curious as to how the Auto Beer Bar, seemingly a brilliant and indispensable creation, managed to keep the beer cold.

If the manufacturer were say, British Leyland, this would not be an issue.

1. Yes. I had a 1952 MG-TD Mk II. One of my dumbest purchases, but it was a lot of fun when it ran. It didn't have quite the acceleration and cornering abilities of a VW Beetle, but it was more fun to be seen in. When it ran. Of course.

1. I called my Bug a Snow Porsche. It had awesome traction and cornered with the best of 'em in the snow. I learned the utility of handbrake turns in that car. Twitch the wheel and grab the brake and all of a sudden you're going in a whole different direction, in perfect control. The only drawback was ground clearance.

2. Sweet! My first car was a '62 Midget. I somehow drove it from Chicago to Los Angeles in 1970. Had to sell it when Uncle Sam summoned me. No synchro on first, so you never ran stop signs.

The most beautiful of the old MGs, IMHO, is the TC. They say if you parked it on an uneven surface, it was hard to open the doors because the frame was so flexible.
<img src="http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/db/9d/8d/db9d8d341de21e688b01eaf43cb1d57f.jpg"> My then-prosperous brother-in-law had a TF that he entered in contests. He told me one time he wasn't winning as many prizes as he previously had been, so he had the cylinder head removed and porcelainized.

3. Much as I like the TC, I just can't physically fit in it. It was a chore getting into (and out of) the TD, as well. The TF and MG-A were vast improvements in driveability, but in my opinion, styling failures. The MG-B was the pinnacle for them, hit all the marks for styling, driveability, and relative reliability. The Midget/Sprite (Spridget) was nice, but there's that legroom bugaboo again. I actually tried to buy one a few years ago, and I just couldn't get in. My '08 Shelby doesn't offer the legroom the originals did, either. All that wimpy surviveability BS in the dash…

4. I was 6'3" when I had the Midget and honestly didn't mind. Of course I was a lot younger, thinner, and more flexible in 1970.

This discussion got me looking around (Hemmings; eBay doesn't have any) for restored TCs, and they're not as expensive as I expected. Only lack of storage space and common sense keep me from just buying one.
