Before Trump signed an executive order that set an immigration ban from seven Middle Easter countries, a majority of Americans approved of a hypothetical refugee ban from countries Syria, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen. A Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey found that voters were 57 percent likely to favor a temporary ban. According to the most recent PPP poll, however, a plurality of Americans are against the ban that Trump imposed, as 49 percent of voters said they were against it while only 47 percent said they supported it.
