  1. Hate to say it, but I gotta go with il Tortuga on this one. If the rules of the Senate don't allow one senator to impugn another from the floor, then Comrade Warrenovna can't read that letter.

The rules of the Senate suck and are totally undemocratic, but they're still the rules.

    1. Doesn't exactly keep in the spirit of the rule. Senator Sessions is also Presidential Nominee Sessions and is himself the topic of debate. And she was reading a letter responding to last time he was Presidential Nominee Sessions. This effectively means that nominees that are still senators cannot be fully debated, which kinda changes "advise and consent" to "rubber stamp."

Why not turn it around and apply it to Republicans who bad-mouthed Warren while debating whether to punish Warren?

    1. Um, I watched most of the CNN Sander's and that guy just a little less despicable than the sociopath in chief debate. I hope Bernie's Medicaid Gold health holds out because he is in a lot of ways the only one saying the things that need to be said.

      NERRRRRD!!1!

    1. I would rate this 99% true. Liz (through Mitch's eyes) got in "trouble" for referring to Jefferson directly. Merkley read 90% of the letter, omitting any direct reference to The Evil Elf.

          1. I gotta ask my retired buddy who was high up in NPR if he ever met the esteemed Ms Roberts and what his take was on her.
