In the last month, conservative supporters of Park have also held large-scale counter demonstrations. Many conservatives at these rallies carry American flags and denounce impeachment supporters as North Korean sympathizers.
Am I reading too much into this, or has the US become synonymous with "conservative" now? If so, that's a depressing result on our worldwide reputation.
I think it's more about being anti-DPRK (which is a conservative value over there, kind of like how Republicans felt about Russia until last November). That, and they're probably celebrating the special relationship that had ROK doing such things as getting involved in the Vietnam War, because "debt of gratitude" and "why not?"
