    She went on to add "but who needs evidence when we can easily distract the media by making baseless claims like this one? Peace-out, suckers!"

  2. As the right-wingers were fond of saying during shrub's reign of error, if you don't have anything to hide, why do you care if they're monitoring you?

    1. Because I want privacy. Not secrecy, but privacy. When somebody goes in a bathroom stall, what they're doing is not secret, but it is, or ought to be, private. Same thing with sweet words to your lover, advice to your kids, hopes, dreams, and failed attempts to echo Dylan's double pull-off lick at the beginning of "Don't Think Think Twice, It's All Right."

      1. I'm certainly not advocating for loss of privacy, just trying to turn their talking points back on them. I know, I know, that trick never works…

        1. Yeah, didn't mean to sound strident. The comparison above is my best argument against the nothing-to-hide meme. It's surprising how many otherwise sensible people put no value on their own privacy.
