  1. About a half-an-hour before the vote was expected to begin, the House was abruptly called into recess and House Republicans were summoned to the Capitol basement in for conference meeting.

Members entering the conference meeting appeared unsure what was going on. After 20 minutes or so, they emerged saying the bill had been pulled because they didn't have the votes. Members were not told whether the bill would be brought up again, but Rep. Greg Walden (R-OR) said the current bill is done and won't come up for a future vote.

    1. Now we'll have to stick with that horrible failing Obamacare that's crashing and burning bigly and taking the choice of going uninsured and poor away from thousands.
      Sad!

      1. I'm sure they'll actively try to murder the ACA now, out of spite. You know, to warm them up for the upcoming fights to end Medicaid and cut way back on Medicare and Social Security. Those tax cuts ain't gonna pay for themselves, ya know.

"Though some conservative outlets have already begun pinning responsibility for the shaky-legged legislation on House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI), the White House has emphasized that they have worker with the Speaker."

Sure, because they want to blame Ryan.

I cannot imagine how Republicans feel knowing Ryan was going to force them to take a politically toxic vote because Trump told him to.

    Oof.

AP: Trump says health care bill fell short in lead-up to House vote because of no support from Democrats

    (GOP controls WH, House, Senate)

    Double Oof.
