There was a dark-phase one at our place. Coulda made a lotta money betting birders on what it was , when it was perched anyway…..flight gave it away.

Cool. Not familiar with the gray hawk. I saw some turkey vultures today. They live nearby in the summer.
Mexican bird. Only Big Bend and a bit of Southern Az. have any currently.
Beautiful creatures but hawks (and owls) have a bad habit of killing our ducks.
