  1. No such luck with my car: it's got to go to the shop later. Damn thing won't start without turning the ignition several times. Here's hoping fixing that won't cost me a fortune!

  2. Already took it to a place…they can't find the problem yet (every time they try to start it, it starts.) Am leaving it overnight and they will try again in the AM: the idea being if it does not start then, it's probably a starter issue, but their computer diagnostic didn't pick anything up, and the battery is fine.

    This happened a couple times last year (having to turn the ignition several times before the car would start), but it was so intermittent I figured things were fine. But suddenly this week it has happened several times: after it happened three times yesterday, I knew I had to take the car in. Had planned to go to the store and back and then take it in today, but it took SIX times before I could start it so I went straight to the shop.

    I was low on oil, so if nothing else I'm going to get that taken care of. But I really hope they find the issue, because I need my car.

  3. Could be:

    * Dead spot in the starter motor windings
    * bad solenoid
    * bad contacts for the solenoid
    * intermittent ground somewhere
    * loose battery terminals
    * bad battery ground.

    That's all I got. I'd go the the dead spot, perhaps, from what I've seen…

    Good luck! Good to have that oil topped off, anyway.
