      1. It's a surprisingly well-aging meme. Anytime you see a pic of someone about to strum a string instrument you say "Anyway, here's Wonderwall". Apparently it's a beginner's song that was overplayed at one point.

  1. United has a rich history of bad behavior. Take it from somebody who's flown half a million miles with them.

    Dear Lot_49,

I would like to take this time to provide some insight as to why sometimes seats are changed without notice or confirmation. Through the course of a year we have several schedule changes; Federal Regulations allow all carriers to alter their schedule based on operational needs. United's responsibility is to protect the ticketed customer in the event of a schedule change in their ticketed cabin. Our obligation is to ensure you are protected on the best option available
and unfortunately seat assignments are not part of the purchased contract; based on this, regrettably pre-assigned seat assignments are never guaranteed until check-in.

Our goal is to ensure our customer have a seamless travel experience and I sincerely regret we let you down. I do hope you do not experience anymore complication with your reservations and hope your travel with us will be what we both expect from United.

On March 9 2013, I reserved seats 1D and 3B for the return legs of this trip (your flights 18 and 1200). These are aisle seats, which I prefer–in fact that's why I reserved them. You switched me to other seats. Why? Is this any way to treat someone who pays $3,108.60 of his own money to use your airline?

I look forward to hearing your response.
