  1. Also too:

South Australia underwent similar strains. The state has plenty of coal and natural gas reserves, but, thanks to South Australia’s environmental movement, many of the state’s most reliable coal-powered plants have been shuttered, forcing solar and wind power to make up the deficit.

The state’s growing dependence on renewable energy is resulting in brownouts and blackouts.

    [This]:

The South Australian blackout of 2016 was a widespread power outage in South Australia that occurred as a result of storm damage to electricity transmission infrastructure on 28 September 2016. The cascading failure of the electricity transmission network resulted in almost the entire state losing its electricity supply.

    [And this]:

SA heatwave forces blackouts to cope with electricity demand, angering Government

tl;dr: the Daily Caller is full of shit. Again.

  2. I've said this over the years: If only the arc of energy use could have been altered in 1980. We wouldn't have a ton of problems we have now. the Middle East, Russia, Fossil Fool Funded Fundies, etc.

  3. I bought a small-scale [array] for my RV a few years ago. It's still as cheap now. I added a 1000 watt inverter to power my coffee maker, so the whole thing set me back just over $200 for a 45 watt system to keep my batteries at full charge. Now there's an Indian startup called [Avant Garde] that sells a 2000 watt wind generator for about $700.

    Fuck coal.
