Back in the Cold War, the herders around Giessen Army Depot (a US Army facility) used to bringsheep in to "mow" the grass lawns. One depot commander tried to stop it because he had security concerns, but got educated that those sheep had been doing that for fifty years and weren't going to stop because of one anxious colonel.
Giessen, BTW is where Wilhelm Roentgen is buried, as I learned from wandering the very nice cemetery there on one rare non-rainy evening.
While boxing up my house in Nevada, one treasure stood out from the rest–a Roentgen meter, which I lovingly wrapped up and placed in a box that likely won't be re-opened in my lifetime.
