Trump has visited just nine states and has never stayed the night. He inhabits a closed world that one adviser recently described to me as “Fortress Trump.” Rarely venturing beyond the White House and Mar-a-Lago, he measures his fortunes through reports from friends, staff, and a feast of television coverage of himself.
That would explain why he sounds more disconnected from reality every day.
I hope we still have a country when he's done with it, but I don't think ANYthing can or will get done with the current leadership, due to hyper-partisanism. Even if the Dems retake both houses of Congress next year, I remember all too well Pelosi making a point of looking forward, not backward, even with overwhelming evidence of criminal behavior from the bush/cheney regime. We really DO need to make sure that POTUS is never again allowed to be an entry-level jerb, though.
