  1. Welp, as I said over on 'Becca's site, this puts a real crimp in businesses like my own where US-EU consulting and travel is typical and necessary. I thought Trump was gonna be the president (barf!) that removed all of those odious regulations for businesses.

    1. Amercia first!

I'm about to make my annual pilgrimage to Italy and dreading flying home with nothing more than a cell phone to entertain me. Or worse yet: you arrive at security with your computer but minus luggage, and have to make a spontaneous donation.

I remember coming home from Panama a few days after the underwear bomber attempt. There's security screener at the airport there whom I developed a very intimate relationship with in only a few seconds. Before we landed in Houston or wherever it was, we had to strap into our seats 30 minutes before landing, no computers, hands in plain view. I asked if I could read a book, and the flight attendant seriously considered saying no.

  2. Last time I flew, Southwest wanted eight bucks to access the internet onboard. I said fuck that noise and read a hard copy of the paper and then Runner's World.

That said, flying from Europe takes longer, so this will suck.
