Ever listen to "The Midnight Special" on WFMT from Chicago? Good folkie stuff every Saturday night since I was a pup. I first heard Leonard Cohen on that show.
No, I haven't. Up until not so long ago I didn't have the bandwidth to stream, so I never bothered. It's odd–I used to get a stable stream from KPIG on my 56K dial-up modem, but as content became king, and the internet became more popular, my bandwidth out in the sticks shrank considerably by folks closer to the hubs gaming and streaming video. That part is still true to a certain extent, but we're getting there.
When I was new in the Air Force they assembled a classroom full of us together to spend the whole day filling out that goddamn form, and we were all too young to have much in the way of foreign travel or connections. Later as a contractor I was responsible for nursing my employees through the process, and it was "automated," in that wonderful clunky government way that really is worse than paper.
So I can see how anyone could make a mistake, like forgetting about asking the Russian ambassador to set up a secure commo link from DC to the Kremlin. It could happen to anyone!
