It's not you, it's the state of local "journalism", where shaming people for their unfortunate situations is considered a valid reporting method. The ABQ Sunday Journal includes a pull-out color supplement featuring mugshots of people who were arrested for DUI in the past week. Not all arrests, mind you, only the most desperate and vulnerable perpetrators. Very few mugshots of bankers, lawyers, or tech VPs.
