So—a student plagiarized full sentences of mine and one other person on a discussion board. She didn’t even bother changing the font. She made the whole post really small point (4 point font so nobody could see her bullshit.)
I’m flabbergasted at this level of blatant bullshit in a class of 12 people. I emailed the instructor, and the offender is supposed to send me an apology. I don’t want the apology, rather, I want to know why these fucking dumbass people are granted degrees. (Yeah, thanks ASU.)

The Instructor's email to me:
I had a long chat with Marisa this afternoon. She understands the gravity of her actions. There is of course no justification; however, there are lessons learned and our ability to give someone a second chance.
She plans to send you an email of apology. Based on that, I hope that you can forgive and give her a second chance.

So—been a week now. I did not get an apology. I think she’s done this before, (the overt nature!!) and that’s how she sails through her studies. I think she’s only sorry for getting caught.
Am I a “killjoy” to gun for an XE (meaning failure due to academic dishonesty) for her?
(I have not told the instructor that she didn’t apologize yet, but I will.)
The prof is pathetic. Although this is a personal affront and a kind of theft, where "I'm sorry" is a start. ; it's also an [ okay, 'a small ' ] assault on the integrity of the institution, and the prof for that matter.
Master's going for her PhD in Rhetoric. Really bad with syntax, actually.
[ glasspusher has probably booked a flight for tomorrow to personally kick ass ]
okay, I haz feels for that situation, "Can I please get through this teaching shit without fucking-up my PhD?"
But if they plan on continuing in academia, instead of say., writing for a blog, there's a lot of shit…….. the ivory tower of of oblivious academics is a myth . Just as much real -world shit there as anywhere.
